Prestigious Pearls

The Umbrella of Excellence Prestigious  Pearls  Mentoring Program is a long-term, group mentoring and leadership development program. This program is offered to girls 13-18 (from September through April annually) and has three distinct levels based on age and grade. 

Sessions are the first and third Saturday mornings from 9:30 a.m. - 12:00 noon in Powder Springs, Georgia. The 2018-2019 session will begin Saturday, August 4, 2018 with a special 3 Cups of Tea-Back to School Basics (details provided upon registration).  REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED FOR PARTICIPATION.

Each Pearl meets one day per week for 15-30 minutes via Zoom, GroupMe or Skype during the school year. Program curriculum and activities for Pearls focuses on 6-primary areas including self-image/esteem, character/leadership, health/wellness, finance/stewardship, healthy relationships and spiritual enrichment. This program is designed to build life-long relationships, sisterhood and long-term results.

 

 

The purpose of the Umbrella of Excellence Prestigious Pearls  Mentoring Program is to:

​

  •  Teach girls to respect themselves and others.

  •  Promote community service and stewardship. 

  •  Build self-esteem while creating a sense of sisterhood.

  •  Offer activities that are exciting, entertaining and educational.

  •  Collaborate with S.T.E.M./S.T.E.A.M. Initiative.

  •  Create an environment where girls can talk freely and be themselves.

  •  Offer weekly activities that build leadership while lending a listening ear.

  •  Build character and confidence under the guidance of caring adult mentors.

  •  Encourage girls to embrace their unique qualities and identify their God given talents.

  •  Offer youth entreprenuership coaching.


The program is open to ALL GIRLS regardless of race or socio-economic background. There are currently two membership levels offered including:

General Membership Option

General membership does NOT INCLUDE weekly mentoring sessions, but does offer many other perks and services including select events, Annual Ballroom Dance Program, FREE parent workshops and select family enrichment activities.   Participation at this level requires, parent orientation, UOE annual membership fee of $35 and annual dues of $35. 

 

Weekly Cluster Mentoring Option

​The Prestigious Pearls Mentoring Program includes weekly group mentoring, The Annual Ballroom Dance Program, field trips, community service opportunities, FREE parent workshops and family enrichment activities.  Participation in this program requires parent orientation, UOE annual membership of $35 and monthly dues of $35 for the 8-month program.​
